Scott Rae

SCOTT RAE

Scott B. Rae is Senior Advisor to the President, Biola University, Dean of Faculty and Professor of Christian Ethics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He has a B.S. in Economics from Southern Methodist University, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. His primary interests are in bioethics and business ethics, dealing with the application of Christian ethics to medicine and the marketplace. He is the author of 14 books, including Moral Choices: An Introduction to Ethics (Zondervan, 4th edition, 2009), Outside the Womb: Moral Guidance for Assisted Reproduction (Moody, 2010, with D. Joy Riley, MD), Business for the Common Good: A Christian Vision for the Marketplace, (IVP Academic, 2010, with Kenman L. Wong), Beyond Integrity: A Judeo-Christian Approach to Business Ethics (Zondervan, 3rd edition, 2012), and Doing the Right Thing (Zondervan, 2013), a companion book to the film series written and produced by the late Chuck Colson. He has articles in various journals, including the Linacre Quarterly, National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly, Southern California Review of Law and Women’s Studies, and the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology. He has consulted with several southern California hospitals in ethics for 15 years. He is a fellow of the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity and the Wilberforce Forum. He is married to his wife, Sally, and they have three grown sons, Taylor, Cameron, and Austin.
