LUKUS COUNTERMAN

Lukus Counterman co-founded the Gospel Grace Church in 2012 in Salt Lake City and now serves as Lead Pastor. He began pastoral ministry in 2000 as an Assistant Pastor in Glen Burnie, MD. After four years there, he became a senior pastor in Wichita Falls, TX. He served there in a full-time capacity as the lead pastor-teacher for nearly 8 years. In 2009, Lukus was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the USAF Reserve and began his career in the military chaplaincy as an Air Force reserve chaplain in addition to his pastoral ministry.

Lukus holds a BA in Biology from the University of Maryland (1999), an MA in Biblical Counseling from Maranatha Baptist Seminary (2004), an MDiv from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary, Lansdale, PA (2009), a DMin in Homiletics from Dallas Theological Seminary (2011), and a PhD in Systematic Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2019). He also is as an adjunct professor for Gateway Seminary at the Salt Lake School of Theology teaching site.

Lukus and his wife Liesl have a son entering medical school, a daughter and son-in-law serving with them at GGC, and two daughters still at home.
