GENE GETZ
Dr. Gene Getz is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He earned a BA from Rocky Mountain College, an MA from the Wheaton Graduate School, and a PhD from New York University. He has served as a professor at Moody Bible Institute and Director of the Moody Evening School and a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary.
While teaching at Dallas, Gene authored “Sharpening the Focus of the Church,” which led him out of the academic world to become a church planting pastor—starting the Fellowship Bible Church movement.
Dr. Getz has authored nearly 70 books, which include two multi-media Study Bibles—the Life Essentials Study Bible and the Men of Character Bible. He now serves as the Director of the Center for Church Renewal.
Gene’s latest project is a complete rewrite of what over the years has become a classic—“Sharpening the Focus of the Church,” just released by Moody Publishers. Again, Gene has added a multi-media dimension to this publication, which includes 38 QR codes and video introductions to each chapter.
Gene also airs a 2-minute daily feature on numerous radio stations called “Bible Principles” which can be accessed by going to www.bibleprinciples.org. He also continues to speak in churches and at special conferences.
